Well, last night I got very angry and wrote a number of letters to Washington DC, Dept of Interior, Governor's office, and Sen Gaetz to express my anger regarding the pictures on the national news today of Grand Isle Louisiana, with 7 miles of beach covered with oil, and the oil floating through the marsh grasses.  There was not a soul around from BP or anybody else working on cleaning up the mess.  We were promised in a meeting in Fort Walton Beach in the beginning of May that if oil came ashore it would be in the form of "tar balls", and that BP personnel would be on hand to collect them.  Well, this wasn't what I saw in Louisiana!!  I feel like I am watching a slow motion replay of the exasperation felt after Katrina--and wondering where the rest of the world or country was in helping us to avert a major league catastrophe destroying lives of people and wildlife.

This is a call to anyone who reads this to organize--I don't think we can trust that the government is actually going to come to our aid--in fact, they may stand in our way and threaten to withold funds if we "don't play nice by their rules"--we see what those rules resulted in in Louisiana.  If that oil hits the shores of Destin and Santa Rosa Beach and Okaloosa Island and beyone, our way of life and economy will be destroyed!  We need to take action, and get organized and make a plan.
